UrbanFloods

The general goal of the project is the joint development of innovative solutions for managing river and stream floods in urban areas, as these often pose a significant flood risk to cities. The developed solutions will be based on an advanced information system that will facilitate adaptation to climate change, which is exacerbated by rapid urbanization and changing climate patterns.

The partners of the URBANFLOODS project recognize that effective flood management requires a comprehensive understanding of processes at both local and regional levels to develop appropriate strategies for preventing and mitigating flood consequences. The project aims to increase the resilience and preparedness of cities for the impacts of climate change through the joint development of an advanced integrated decision support system.

The project's goal is also to propose short-term, medium-term, and long-term measures/recommendations/strategies for local decision-makers and stakeholders to manage floods effectively.
